Is polyethylene toxic?

Polyethylene itself is non‑toxic. It is primarily classified into high‑density polyethylene, low‑density polyethylene, and linear low‑density polyethylene. Polyethylene has a matte surface, appearing as milky white, waxy granules; it is corrosion‑resistant, exhibits low water absorption, and possesses excellent electrical insulation properties. Its production processes are mainly divided into the high‑pressure tubular process and the autoclave process. It is widely used in agricultural films and industrial packaging films.
